At the Las Vegas Rock Camp, just a few blocks from the strip, Rock and Roll was definitely not a fantasy as musicians gathered at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas on October 8th, 2013, to celebrate their first birthday. For those of you that are not familiar with Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp it is the ULTIMATE ROCK EXPERIENCE! It’s all about you! It’s you on stage with Rock Stars! Campers get to jam, rehearse, write record and perform with Rock Stars.
The birthday celebration included musicians and members of the Las Vegas business community that helped make the first year of operations at the one of a kind team building experience concept a reality. The birthday bash was the place to be in Vegas! It was a 4 hour JAM Session! Music Director and Master of Ceremonies for the bash was Frank DiMino, of Angel and Vinyl Tattoo. Special “surprise” guests included Elliot Easton of The Cars, guitar extraordinaire Gary Hoey, and the Proton Saints, JOE GIGLIO – drums, ANU GUNN – guitar, vocals, KIERON ELLIOT – lead vocals, and GALO CUEVA – Bass. All of which were part of David Fishof’s Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp’s season one, on VH1 Classic, television station.
The stage was never empty and the music never stopped! Rock legends took the stage one set after another! Gary Hoey, who has been listed as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time, rocked the house when he went toe to toe and cut heads with Stoney Curtis. God Gave us Rock & Roll and he gave the attendees of the birthday bash some KISS revisited. With Bob Kulick, Grammy Award winning guitarist and record producer, best known for his studio work with Kiss; Jason Ebs, lead vocalist and guitarist from CRISS (Peter Criss’ solo band CRISS ); and Scot Coogan drummer from Frehley’s Comet (Ace Frehley’s band). Other ROCKERS throwing it down included Eighties sensations such as Elliot Easton, guitarist for “The Cars” and Lez Warner, drummer for The Cult, Sean Coos, bassist (Joan Jett), Zack Throne (Sin City Sinners), Alex Davis (“The Family Stone”), A.J. Johnson and others kept the house movin’, shakin’ and rockin’ the place! To be quite honest we were enjoying ourselves so much we couldn’t get a complete roll call.
In a struggling economy, it’s hopeful for Las Vegas to see such a unique concept reach such a milestone. The majority of, if not all of, the artists mentioned here are Rock Camp Counselors. Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp offers a variety of different camp experiences ranging from one day to five rock camps and a daily experience ranging from 90 minutes to four hours, called, Rock Star For A Day. It’s also a perfect choice for your next corporate team building event and with the Holiday season quickly approaching it’s an AMAZING and memorable experience to share with your staff, vendors or client’s.
A very special thank you to Joanne Codi and Paul Davis for including New Media Vegas, Sin City Presents and the members of the Convention Services Association of Las Vegas in your celebration and especially to David Fishof for his creative vision and for bringing this innovative entertainment concept to the entertainment capital of the world. This vision has changed the face of the music industry in Las Vegas and as more and more rock artists flock to Vegas, Sin City is fast Becoming the Rock n’ Roll center of the universe. Happy Birthday Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp…and many more!
