Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series will now take place Saturday night, Nov. 11 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds
LAS VEGAS – November 2, 2017 –The GEICO Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon has announced changes to the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series featuring headlining act, Goo Goo Dolls. Previously held Sunday afternoon before the race, the concert will now be held Saturday night at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds immediately following the 5K. The concert will remain free for all runners, family and friends.
Last week the race announced a new start line on Las Vegas Blvd. at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, one mile north of the previous start line.
“Our goal was to keep as much of our race weekend experience the same following the changes to the start line,” said Josh Furlow, President of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “By moving to a new night and different venue, all runners, friends and family will be able to attend the concert and celebrate ahead of the big race on Sunday.”
Saturday’s 5K starts at 6:00 pm on S. Bridge Lane just outside of the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The Goo Goo Dolls concert will take place from 7:30 pm – 8:45 pm within the festival grounds, with opening act March Fourth starting at 6:00 pm.
All other race weekend events including the Health & Fitness Expo and Sunday’s 10K will go on as planned. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K finish line has not changed its location on Las Vegas Blvd. in front of The Mirage Hotel & Casino. The final course map will be published in the coming days.
