LAS VEGAS — As Donn Arden’s Jubilee prepares to close at Bally’s Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2016, after more than 34 years as a celebrated staple of Las Vegas entertainment, the Las Vegas News Bureau salutes the production with this collection of photos both old and new. These photos are sequenced for slide shows, and to emphasize the like elements in the award-winning production which has sparkled on the Strip since its opening in 1981. Set in seven acts featuring original songs, dances, and costumes designed by Bob Mackie and Pete Menefee, Donn Arden’s Jubilee contains sequences not found on any stage in the world, including amazing aerial stunts, “The Sinking of the Titanic” and “The Destruction of the Temple by Samson.” Photography by Las Vegas News Bureau staff Mark Damon, Gary Angel, John Litty and Cliff Stanley. Editor’s note: Some of the images are from the uncovered performances.
